The Close Distances series of films casts a light on stories, characters, and issues taking place in remote or far away lands but affect us so deeply that they may as well be happening to us right here and now. The Finding A Voice program exhibits films and characters that feel adrift in their world and foreign to their own skin. These brave and honest films address issues of cultural, spiritual, racial, and sexual identity. Portraying intimate, captivating, and often funny glimpses of  people and characters who were once lost but are now found.

Growing Pains

Growing Pains is a collection of films depicting characters young and old who face personal challenges that result in powerful and nuanced transformations that are difficult, painful, and sometimes wondrous to behold.

Time & Space focuses on the innovative and the timeless in an exciting program featuring the work of brazen newcomers and veteran filmmakers who are pushing the boundaries of mainstream South Asian Cinema. It spotlights work that challenges our notion of time, conventional storytelling, and explores experimental filmmaking techniques, new territory and technologies.

Up Close & Personal

Up Close & Personal offers a raw and intimate window on contemporary international cinema. A showcase for new and emerging filmmakers, Up Close & Personal is an exciting introduction to several gifted and innovative directors who are reaching far beyond the confines of conventional subjects and typical portrayals.
