INTERNSHIPS AT SAIFF

The South Asian International Film Festival; SAIFF – Internships are designed to provide work-related learning experience for students in one or more areas of the festival. The SAIFF internship program allows a student to gain professional experience in an area of interest, including sponsorship, grants, marketing, outreach, membership, business, and operations, etc., with responsibility and supervision that facilitates learning. The South Asian International Film Festival is the destination South Asian films and entertainment from around the world. Participating in a SAIFF internship program will provide students with a unique understanding of the South Asian film industry and is an excellent way to determine if this industry and profession is a viable career option for them. Interns gain practical work experience while building skills in various film festival platforms.

SAIFF - Internships help students to combine theory with practical work experience. Interns will develop professional work habits as well as an understanding of the various SAIFF areas with the opportunity to study multiple work settings and differences in work styles.

SAIFF Internships bring a significant edge to students/individuals seeking career advancement. Employers look for persons who are self-confident and knowledgeable of a multicultural world. Successful completion of a SAIFF internship program will further develop characteristics highly valued by companies and organizations in the real business world.

The SAIFF internship program is a temporary assignment that lasts approximately 12-16 weeks during a specific year (one semester / spring, summer, or fall). Internships occurring during a given academic year typically require a commitment of 10-20 hours per week. However, the hours and length of the internship can be adjusted depending on the needs of the department and the availability of the student.
